Some Tips To Avoid International Business Blunders

Monday, February 7th, 2011

Article by Lucile Taylor

When you are determined to pursue economic relations in the global market, there are a lot of seemingly unnoticeable details that need to be looked into. Cultures and traditions of different nations have to be greatly considered in order to avoid any international business blunders. It may not just be embarrassing on your end, worst is that it might be the cause of failure.

The reason behind it is that, there is lack of familiarity with the practices, customs and etiquette. Yes, there is a huge disparity because you come from both corners of the world but an initial step of any effort to discovery will always lead to success. Here are some tips to do away with those international business blunders.

Shake Hands or Bow Down?In Japan, a slight stoop signifies respect and humility, such is very important to observe when having appointments with the Japanese. However, there are different levels that have its corresponding meaning. Shaking of hands are acceptable in Italy especially when saying bonjour or bidding ciao. In the United States, the males do not get on their feet when a female enters or leaves a room. They do not even kiss a woman’s hand because it is reserved for royalty. In Thailand, the conventional manner of welcoming a person is by placing both hands together in a prayer position at the chin and bending over in a certain angle. The higher the hands, more elevated regard is shown. Fingertips should not be raised above the eye level. Aside from “hello”, it means “thank you” and “I’m sorry”. This is one of the international business blunders that is equivalent to refusing a hand shake in the Western coast.

Gift or Bribe?Exchanging presents connotes the depth and strength of a commerce relationship with the Japanese. It is usually given at the first meeting. When having to receive something from them, it is also expected to share in return. In Germany, it is rarely done. Small finds are already appreciated but expensive ones are not a generally observed. However, it is not one of the international business blunders as compared to other countries.

Proper GestureThe infamous “OK” sign that originated in the United States means good but it has several definitions in other places. In Brazil, it is a symbol for money carrying with it a vulgar connotation while it suggests zero in France. In the English county, one of the international business blunders is to sit with the ankle resting on the knee. Instead, the legs should be crossed with one knee on top of the other. Patting at the shoulder and putting an arm around the new acquaintance is also a no- no. In Thailand, it is offensive when an arm is placed over the back of the chair when a person is sitting. In Ethiopia, holding out the palm and repeatedly closing the hand indicates “come here”.

Name CallingUsing titles before the first name such as Mister or Madam is highly suggested in France, United Kingdom and Denmark. In Germany, first names are seldom applied. In Thailand, they address each other through first names and reserve the surnames in very formal events. In Belgium, communicating with French- speaking individuals should be as “Monsieur” or “Madame” while the Dutch are either “Mister” or “Miss”. Having the two mixed up is one of the international business blunders that can be a great insult for them.

6 Mistakes To Avoid When Choosing New Home Business Opportunities

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Article by Jeff Schuman

There are many new home business opportunities popping up all over the internet every day. This leaves anyone that is searching for a business opportunity to start a home business with thousands of choices. Before you choose any opportunity you need to understand the mistakes to avoid when choosing the right one for you.

The following are the most important mistakes you want to be sure and avoid when making up your mind about which opportunity to use to get your home business started.

1. Choosing the opportunity based solely on startup cost – The startup cost is definitely an important factor but it shouldn’t be the sole factor considered. There are many other factors that you need to consider in order to make a smart choice.

2. Starting your business with the first opportunity found – Don’t ever start your business with the first opportunity that you find. This is a big mistake because it usually leads to jumping from one opportunity to another trying to find that one that will finally help you make money online.

3. Getting involved for the wrong reasons – You don’t want to get involved with any business opportunity just because they are promising you a lot of money or because it is the new opportunity on the block.

You have to first take time to check it out thoroughly and determine your reasons for getting involved in it. If you can’t find any good reasons to get involved in a particular opportunity then that is a good sign that you shouldn’t.

4. Signing up because someone you know did also – Don’t ever sign up for any opportunity just because someone else you know did. Just because one opportunity is right for someone you know doesn’t mean it is right for you.

You have to take time to research it and be sure it is right for you before signing up or you will waste your time and money.

5. Will the opportunity lead you to a better future – If you start a home business with an opportunity you want to be sure that there is a very real chance of it helping you achieve a better future for you and your family.

Don’t choose any opportunity unless it will be beneficial to your business and building a better future because if you do then you are just wasting your time and money.

6. Not using your common sense and good judgment – With any opportunity you have to be careful and use your common sense and good judgment before signing up. If the opportunity sounds too good to be true then most likely it is and you should do your homework on that particular one to be sure that it is worth your time.

If you avoid these mistakes then you will be able to easily find the right opportunity for you out of all the new home business opportunities available these days. Just don’t rush your decision because choosing the right one is imperative to the building a successful business with it.

DWG International MLM Business Review – How to avoid the mistakes 97% of people make in their DWG International business…

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

Article by Josh Waldrom

With so many MLM distributors failing in MLM companies like DWG International, how come people are still being attracted to them when 97% of people fail in this industry?? Now there is no reason why you can succeed with DWG International or any MLM company for that matter. BUT only if you went about it the right way and with the right information before you make a decision.

Well first off one of the things that attracts people to home based businesses like DWG International is the promise that “you don’t actually have to sell anything”, or “the product is so good, it really sells itself”. The reality is that all business, whether it is network marketing, MLM or a traditional “bricks and mortar”, business is based on the exchange of a product or service for money. And no matter how you dress it up, this is a sales process. Many people have a fear of selling, primarily because they have not been taught how to sell. In a nutshell, we all love to buy things, but none of us likes to “be sold”.

This is where the lack of basic sales training from network marketing and MLM companies like DWG International lets its independent distributors down. It perpetuates the perception that selling is a bad thing, and that simply by “sharing” products with our “circle of influence” (family, friends and work colleagues), you will be helping people and growing your business at the same time. One of the major flaws with this approach is that unsolicited advice about the benefits of using DWG International products is just plain irritating, no matter how well intentioned it is.

To be successful in your DWG International or MLM business, it is critical that you approach the sales process in a professional manner (just as if you had purchased a “bricks and mortar” style of business) otherwise you will end up like 97% of people in this industry and have your business FAIL.

Network marketing and MLM businesses like DWG International are all about relationships. Many people don’t realize that a critical part of the sales process is about building open, honest relationships with your potential customers, and bringing value to these relationships at every opportunity. What is critical about this though is that you give useful information, with no expectation that you will be given anything in return. Building this type of trust is what makes a network marketing or MLM style of business so powerful.

The second key to growing your DWG International business is a sound understanding of marketing techniques to bring the benefits of using DWG International products to the attention of as many people as possible. There are some excellent products out there, but without the sales and marketing to back them up, you will quickly find yourself alongside the 97% of people who fail in companies like DWG International or any other MLM company.

One of the best ways to achieve leverage and the level of interest in your business that can create a 6 figure income and the freedom of lifestyle you desire is to take your marketing online. To effectively market your business online, you need an automated, turnkey marketing system that sifts and sorts prospects for you around the clock. It also needs to be fully duplicatable.

Speaking of Leverage here’s a link to a controversial report that I have to say when I read it; it nearly made me fall off my chair. It’s called the Coffee House Letter and it is revolutionizing the way network marketers do business online. It will not only help you avoid the mistakes 97% of people in this industry make, it will open your eyes like it did mine to why not all home based businesses are created equal… Love it or hate it no-one can read the Coffee House Letter without it profoundly changing the way they view network marketing.

How To Avoid Potentially Fraudulent Business Opportunities

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

Article by Brian Ernst

Too Good to be True?

It might be a scam There are a lot of opportunities available for people who are interested in entrepreneurship. Due to the economic downturns, more employees lose their regular corporate jobs, resulting to a drastic increase in the number of individuals who want to start and run their own business. Along with this, business opportunity scams have also become quite prevalent these days. How, then can you tell a legitimate business offer from a hoax? Many individuals resort to fraudulent activities to earn a crooked buck during these tough economic situations, and one of the most common practices is to run a business opportunity scam. With this, what are the necessary precautions that one needs to remember to avoid a business opportunity scam that might eventually appear on your pop up browser window and emails?

How to Spot Notorious Business Opportunity Scams

For you to know if a business opportunity is a scam, you need to put yourself in the shoes of a scammer. Think about the promises you would most likely offer if you wish to scam a person. To target prospective entrepreneurs, scammers usually make their hoax opportunity appear plausible. A scammer also tends to targets a person’s greed or weakness. He may also prey on someone’s apprehension of missing out on an excellent opportunity. A scammer would want its prey to show and pay money up front. Finally, a professional scammer figures out a way to stay untraceable or anonymous once the scam is revealed or discovered.

Avoiding Business Opportunities Scam

Not all scams are perpetrated by a friendly stranger you happen to meet in a chat room online. There are numerous hoax business opportunities all over the Internet that are legitimate sounding. These scams can be franchises for sale or opportunities that state existing businesses for sale. The following are ways on how you can avoid business opportunity scams:

• Beware of the paperwork – Make sure that you seek the assistance of an attorney to review contracts, business ledgers, disclosure statements, and sales documents. Also, hire a certified accountant to review bank statements and other financial documents.

• Demand for detailed documentation – The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires a business opportunity for sale to have a detailed disclosure document to be forwarded to interested buyers not less than 10 days before a purchase agreement is signed.

• Be vigilant about misleading numbers – Beware of companies that do not want to divulge details on how they came up with the existing cash flow or earnings figures. Also, be wary of those that guarantee a minimum profit over a particular time period.

• Do thorough interviews – Make a point to talk directly to an owner of any existing business and don’t depend solely on communications via a sales agent. As for franchises, you should visit an operating branch to validate if the franchisees’ stories coincide with what you heard from the parent company.

• Be wary of exaggerated earnings claims – Always keep this rule in mind, especially if you are aiming to buy a franchise opportunity. Remember that the law requires all companies to divulge information regarding the number of franchisees who failed over a certain period of time as well as the actual earnings of these franchisees. Make sure that you go over this information and get corresponding evidence as well.

Other Precautionary Steps to Avoid Business Scams

It takes a lot of legwork and intelligence to stay away from business opportunity scams. Rushing to make a decision in buying a business is unnecessary, as this process requires tedious writings of claims and demands that all information is accurate. One of the known hallmarks of notorious scammers today is this high pressure tactic – “This deal is only good for today, and then it’s gone”. It is best to be cautious of business opportunities that sound like a bad deal, such as vending machine routes, chain letters, credit repair services, vacation awards, networking marketing, and work at home schemes. While not all opportunities under these categories are scams, there is a big chance that you will likely stumble into one, especially if you are not too careful in scrutinizing their legitimacy.

Now there is no reason why you can succeed with Ziga International or any MLM company for that matter. BUT only if you went about it the right way and with the right information before you make a decision.

Well first off one of the things that attracts people to home based businesses like Ziga International is the promise that “you don’t actually have to sell anything”, or “the product is so good, it really sells itself”.

This is where the lack of basic sales training from network marketing and MLM companies like Ziga International lets its independent distributors down. It perpetuates the perception that selling is a bad thing, and that simply by “sharing” products with our “circle of influence” (family, friends and work colleagues), you will be helping people and growing your business at the same time. One of the major flaws with this approach is that unsolicited advice about the benefits of using Ziga International products is just plain irritating, no matter how well intentioned it is.

To be successful in your Ziga International or MLM business, it is critical that you approach the sales process in a professional manner (just as if you had purchased a “bricks and mortar” style of business) otherwise you will end up like 97% of people in this industry and have your business FAIL.

Network marketing and MLM businesses like Ziga International are all about relationships.

The second key to growing your Ziga International business is a sound understanding of marketing techniques to bring the benefits of using Ziga International products to the attention of as many people as possible. There are some excellent products out there, but without the sales and marketing to back them up, you will quickly find yourself alongside the 97% of people who fail in companies like Ziga International or any other MLM company.
